Will you book my band?
We love to help bands out. Especially touring bands. The truth is though, with the cost of venues going up, and insurance; it has gotten expensive to do shows. So we cannot help every band out. But feel free to send an e-mail over to booking@takebackproductions.com And if you are from Long Island, then let us know! We are always looking for LI bands to open shows.
Can you put my album out/sign my band?
Send us a demo. If you are going to send us an electronic press kit, please e-mail us first. We really don't want to listen to your band's streaming music, it's nothing against you but we just feel the quality of streams just are not good enough to judge you by. If you want to send us some mp3s, please e-mail us first, so that we can give you an alternative e-mail specifiaclly for this purpose. Otherwise mail us you CD with a one sheet, as well as a list of any tour dates in our area. You can get all the contact info here. Please don't waste our time though; if you are not serious about you band then why shoudl we be? Also we are looking for artists with passion, and not a carbon copy of the latest "it" band.
Who the hell are you guys?
I'm Pat Serrano, and I've been booking shows for more then 5 years. I've been in a bunch of bands, and done photography and design work for different bands and music organizations.
Then there is Joe Capuano. He was the sounds guy for all the Take Back Productions shows. He is also a studio engineer, who records and produces local artists. Also Joe is a live engineer for hire, so everyone should hit him up if they need sound done.
Why are Legion Hall show so expensive?
Our costs to do shows went from the bands cost, to the cost of the venue, plus insurnace, plus the cost of the bands. And that cost is far too great to absorb. We wish that we didn't have to raise the cost of addmission, but it was that or to stop doing shows all together. The upside to this is, that we can now do free shows at Mitchell Park. So it kind of evens itself out.
How do I get to your shows?
If you head over to the shows page and scroll to the bottom, you can find addresses to all the venues we book shows at. Also we have embeded google maps for your convenience, so all you need to do is click on the "to here" link on the map and enter your address. You will then be brought to Google Maps website, where you will find directions to the venue.
